When and Where: is the next Special Olympics?

Just before we move on to the future, lets just recap a bit:

  • The last Special Olypmics was back in February. (26th February – 5th March 2005) held in Nagano, Japan

The 2005 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Nagano, Japan, will be the first Special Olympics World Games held in Asia

  • The next Special Olypmics would be held next year ( 27 March – 2 April 2006) in Latin America; which would involve more than 650 athletes from 19 countries will compete in athletics, basketball, football (soccer), bocce, rhythmic gymnastics, powerlifting, aquatics, equestrian and tennis.
  • Ater Latin America, Special Olympics would be coming to America from (2nd-7th July).The 2006 Special Olympics USA National Summer Games, the first-ever U.S. national Games, are expected to bring 3,000 Special Olympics athletes from across the United States, as well as more than 1,000 coaches and official delegates, and 9,000 members and friends. Competition will be held at Iowa State University and in the central Iowa area. A tentative list of sports for the 2006 USA National Games includes aquatics, athletics, basketball, gymnastics, powerlifting, softball and volleyball. A Motor Activities Training Program (MATP) also may be offered as part of the Games.

Hello, and welcome

Welcome to Special Olympics.

Let me start by introducing myslef. My name is Rory Walker, I live in Jamaica ( the island) and I decided to start this site to show and you pass on knowledge about this one of a kind sporting event that many seem to forget.
This site is dedicated to Special Olympics, from the contestants, to the event , even about the current record for the 100m dash. You would find it all here.
